History
The Drury family started in business just after the 2nd world war with a small transport business based in the North Norfolk village of Southrepps consisting of a converted ambulance! Most of the work in those early days was carrying farm animals and this wonderful black and white photograph from the Drury archives shows Mr B E Drury (Billy) and his son Michael at the local livestock market.
The business now has a fleet of modern long distance haulage trucks and skip lorries and a purpose built range of warehouses for storage of customers good. Drurys Skip Hire and Waste Recycling Services was formed as a result of the purchase in the early 1990s of a local business Willard Skips. Due to the growth and success of this further modern buildings have been added to the site in North Walsham and a full waste recycling centre with modern machinery and equipment has been established. Michael Drury is still running the business together with his senior management team and he has also diversified into property development through a sister company Southrepps Developments Limited. Still very much a family business to this day this contributes to the emphasis on providing a competitive and very personalised and efficient service to it’s customers both private and trade.
