The skips provided by Drurys Environmental Services Ltd cater for the majority of Home and Garden waste materials, with few exceptions. In general, there are two types of Skips to choose from for Home and Garden waste, either an Inert waste Skip or General waste Skip.

  • Inert Waste Skip are generally for outdoor materials such as, bricks, tiles, concrete, ceramics, soil, clays, sub-soil, top-soil, or hardcore mix (less than 10% tarmac)
  • Whereas, General waste Skips accept all of the above plus those standard household materials such as metals, plastics or wood, Doors, Baths, taps and Worktops and many other items can be disposed of. Plasterboard can be collected but we require you to segregate it in a bag that we can supply or better still a separate skip.

Fridges, TV’s, monitors, or hazardous waste which includes paints, solvents, liquids or batteries are not permitted within Skips. White bonded Asbestos which has a content of <1% can be accepted but we require it to be double-wrapped and pre notification given. Phone 01692 405820 for further guidance. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept Hazardous waste, but we have strong working relationships with specialist companies who can deliver this service.

Hiring a Skip from Drurys Environmental Services Limited is easy. Below you will find a quick guide to your Skip delivery.

How to get next day delivery:

We guarantee next day or sometimes same day delivery depending where you are and when you place your order. However, if a permit is required we would need advance warning as this process can take up to five days. The amount of time required to arrange a permit can vary depending on the local council and the Skip supplier.

How to get same day delivery:

We can sometimes deliver same day to the following areas providing you place your order before 12.00pm and that we have full access (subject to availability). Even if you are outside these postcode areas, we may still be able to deliver same day if we have availability, so call 01692 405820 to find out. North Walsham NR28, Swafield NR28, Antingham NR28, Crostwight NR28, Honing NR28, Knapton NR28, Paston NR28, Ridlington NR28, Gimingham NR11, Southrepps NR11, Mundesley NR11, Bacton NR12 & Walcott NR12.

How to prepare for your Skip delivery:

Usually your Skip will be delivered by LGV, which is normally large, although we have smaller trucks for tricky locations. Your drive needs to be 2.9 metres (9ft 6inches) wide for a normal truck with a 6 cubic yard skip (standard size). When ordered we will enquire about the location of the skip. Please advise of any access difficulties at the time. Please make sure that there is sufficient access to allow your Skip in and out safely. If you are unsure, please contact us and we can provide you with the approximate dimensions required.

How to extend the standard 14-day hire period:

The normal Skip Hire is for fourteen days but this can be extended to suit your needs, but there will be a small charge for this extension. If you require a permit for Skip placement these can be arranged for a maximum of 28 days.

We recognise that the area around your home is important to you and will therefore deliver your skip to the most convenient location. If we’re unable to drop within the grounds of your property, we will attempt to contact you and if possible we will leave at the nearest position adjacent to your property. If we are unable to drop outside your property and the only suitable drop point is the road, then your Skip will require a permit issued by the local council, but don’t worry, we will take care of all of this. Simply let us know if the Skip won’t be able to be left on your private land. To make the delivery process as quick and easy as possible, please note:-

  • Skips will not be placed on grassed areas where the vehicle has to drive across or place legs onto grass.
  • Vehicles can only access any site over a drop kerb (not a raised kerb)
  • Vehicles are not permitted to place legs onto council land and footpaths other than public highways.
  • Placing Skips on block paving, slabbed driveways, hidden manhole covers, soft and un-level ground is not advisable and so is only done so at your own risk.

Drurys Environmental Services cannot be held responsibility for damage to customers’ property or premises if the ground or site is not suitable for a HGV and the points above have not been given due consideration.
